My career started in the classroom. I taught middle school before moving into teacher training and corporate training, where I focused on helping people understand complex ideas and apply them in practical ways.

Along the way, I also built a career as a writer and content strategist, helping organizations communicate clearly and effectively.

Over the course of my career, I’ve delivered talks, trainings, and school visits that have reached more than 50,000 people, helping audiences understand complex ideas and use them in meaningful ways.

HOW I GOT HERE

My career started in the classroom.

I taught middle school before moving into teacher training and corporate training, where I focused on helping people understand complex ideas and apply them in practical ways.

Along the way, I also built a career as a writer and content strategist, helping organizations communicate clearly and effectively.

Over the course of my career, I’ve delivered talks, trainings, and school visits that have reached more than 50,000 people, helping audiences understand complex ideas and use them in meaningful ways.

When artificial intelligence tools began transforming the way people create and work, I became fascinated with a new question…

“How can we use these tools to make our work and lives better—without losing the human intelligence that makes them meaningful?”

MY WORK TODAY

Today I help organizations, educators, and families understand how to use AI thoughtfully and productively.

My work includes:

  • AI training for teams
  • Speaking about AI, learning, and the future of work
  • Guidance for parents and educators navigating AI with children

Across all of this work, my goal is the same: helping people use new technology in ways that genuinely improve their lives.

WRITING & BOOKS

I am the author of three books exploring storytelling, creativity, and the changing role of writers in the age of technology.

My most recent book, Poof! The Disappearance of a Writer in the Age of AI, examines what happens when artificial intelligence begins to reshape creative work—and what that means for writers, educators, and anyone who cares about the future of human creativity.

Writing that book pushed me to think more deeply about how humans and AI can work together, and it ultimately led me to the work I do today.

I am also the author of the award-winning novels A Thousand Never Evers and Laugh With The Moon, published by Random House. Together the books have sold nearly 100,000 copies and received honors including a Parents’ Choice Award and a starred review from Publishers Weekly.

EDUCATION & BACKGROUND

My background in writing, policy, and education continues to shape how I approach artificial intelligence—with a focus on clarity, thoughtful use, and real-world impact.

HOW I WORK WITH PEOPLE
