Custom Chatbot: Your Powers Astound Me

Shana Burg holds hands over mouth, surprised, next to text that says "Dear AI, No one told me you could do that!"

My dad turns 84 this week. He’s been in a memoir-writing group for the past decade. Over the years, my father has written a few dozen 5-10 page stories that tell a variety of tales as he remembers (or imagines) them.

One memoir is about his work as a civil rights lawyer.

Another is about an epic soccer game he played in the under-50 league.

And yet another is a fantastical account of his body lying in state in a storage unit as his spirit watches his friends and family pick through his belongings.

For years, my dad has harbored a dream of putting his stories together in a full-length memoir.

Shh! A Birthday Surprise

So, for my dad’s birthday, I’m building him a custom chatbot to help him with his book project.

It will run on a Large Language Model like Open AI’s GPT, and I will pre-load it with instructions as well as specific knowledge required to complete the task.

In the above photo, I’m in the midst of running a covert operation at Starbucks.

Here’s how the operation went down: I invited my father to meet me to share his latest story. Just as he finished reading it, I casually said, “I sure could use a petite vanilla scone.”

While my father was at the counter, his back to me, I emailed ALL of his stories from his computer to mine.

Now I am feeding his stories into the tool. That sounds illegal and it probably is. But I promise this story will have a happy ending.

You see the custom chatbot that I’m building for my dad will prompt him step-by-step through the process of logically ordering his stories and pulling out connecting themes.

In the end, my father will have what he’s always dreamed of…a full-length memoir told in his own voice (complete with next-level bad dad jokes) and written expressly for his target audience (3 children and 7 grandchildren.) I can’t wait for him to try it!

Build a Custom Chatbot: Turbocharge YOUR Marketing

Lately, I’ve been building custom chatbots for myself as well as for my content marketing clients. “This has saved me a dozen hours in just the first week,“ one just told me. If I told you what she really said (about how it changed her life), I know you’d think I was making it up, so I’ll just leave it at that.

The bottom line is that a custom chatbot can help you produce any kind of content:

  • Blogs
  • Newsletters
  • Social media posts
  • Video scripts, and even
  • Books.

But the real zinger is that every piece of content will be written in your unique voice and expressly designed to appeal to your target customer.

If you’re interested in building a custom chatbot, I put together a step-by-step guide. Click here to get it for FREE.

Believe it or not, you don’t need tech skills to take advantage of this next-level technology. I promise.

However, if you want someone else to build these for you, feel free to reach out to me here.

Have you heard of a custom GPT before today? Would you be interested in building one? Why or why not?
